The door sensor consists of two parts, a reed switch and a magnet. The principle is very simple. When the reed switch is within the magnet's magnetic field, the alarm circuit is closed. Once the magnet moves further than 5mm away and leaves the field, the circuit opens.

This sensor is used to detect the opening of doors and windows. Once opened, it sends a signal about the event to the alarm control panel. If the control panel is armed, it will sound the siren and call and text you with information about the triggered sensor.

The sensor is connected to the alarm control panel via a 2-core cable.

Installation and operation

The sensor consists of 2 parts mounted close together with screws on a window or door. If the distance between the parts exceeds 5 millimetres, the sensor sends a signal about the event to the alarm control panel.

This is why one part is usually mounted on the door frame and the other on the door leaf. When the door opens, the parts move apart, sending a signal to the control panel.

Home arm mode.

By installing magnetic sensors on all external doors and windows and setting home arm mode, you can secure your home overnight.

In this mode you can move around the house and triggering motion sensors won't set off the alarm, while opening any external door or window will trigger it.
